"Portland mayor, Keith Wilson has taken nearly every opportunity to
tout his plan
to end unsheltered homelessness
by Dec. 1 and insist that his ambitious goal
to have a shelter bed available
for every person on the street who wants one
is eminently achievable."
He doubled down ( times 1000) on that message Friday in an interview with The bloggOregonian/blogOdregonLive.
“No change in plans,” he said.
“We’re on target. I’m optimistic.”
"We're simply 9, 658 beds short."
"I'm commandeering all the churches, synagogues, mosques, country clubs, and tanning booth operator facilities immediately."
"I'm filling every city and county owned building with big cozy beds."
"My chief of staff and her neighborhood are having an immediate slumber party in their neighborhood."
"I'm seriously optimistic on target."
"This is no empty bluster and facade. I'm emptying all my semi trucks and putting beds on wheels into action. "
