crutch of fact (1992)
today i get new lenses in my used spectacles, because leaving here soon, i wish to see past
the road and car portal all the redwood coastline; palm desert of southern california,
petrified mesa, anasazi ruin arizona. vast night sky over the texas grass. decisions evade me
these afternoons, spent on golden tongue processes of ritual coffee sipping, and thread
bare treason socially-aligned.
all i need to know be whether pencil snooze or not feel life refined. walden gets the
lead out of life preserver, and the coast away from feeling a slave, or merchant, or patent.
bread made of my heart, desperate in spooned-out tureens, hosts greyish sparrows; hop
from trash fleck to parking meter, you've bested me, stealing the vision.
shirt flutters high in a tree, unaware of which body is bare. it isn't proof that twenty
first century shoguns need intellect, but crutches of fact. dream shards life inner coiled
senses before phone rings; plans for travel leave a topograhpical map in emotion. (1992)
