Diamond cinder

Got a little breathing relief

Catch my breath can't hardly speak

Ma's ashes still warm on the altar

Stop to smell the roses don't falter

Got a few days together before she died

two months later put life aside

There's no easement how we go on

Uncharted realms gotta go full swan

Still smarts but don't feel too wise

Tween a rock and a grown place vice

Brush off the sad she's part my galaxy

Always was and will be mom to me

We have a little breathing space

Keep lungs tidy earth's business pace

Planting trees gotta vote out the saw

Seed health, water well, keep well ready to draw

Sketch the planet a charcoal filter

Before it reduces to one, a diamond cinder

You'll never see another paradise

Parent earth takes two clean dice

Her father away she smoked as a child

Back when vending machine handed out tar mild

Mid life clouds stimulant, weight loss

Never tallied the big picture cost

Gave it her all, tossed in the towel

A month after brother preceded her vowel

O you and I we iou the future

Few'n far between last breaths gathered

short of breath,  too winded to walk

Give us a stump speech talk

She gave her shade, we swung from limbs,

Made a canoe, rings full to their brim

There's no walls in this breathing expanse

Just horizon and a crease in plans

We're done on books, finito caput ideas

Rest all you can can you  please find peace
