Grandmother Flatt

 "Lillie Flatt,

Lyle´s identical twin, was born at Estherville, Iowa, January 21, 1894.

She met her husband, Dean Ward Actly Bloodgood who was born in Kingston New Mexico, 30 July 1884, at state college, New Mexico in 1929.

They had two children."

I have to pan the stream to filter gold dust to imagine my grandmother, the only grandparent who never saw me. Her husband my grandpa Dean saw me as a baby and was alive until I was three. I'm fortunate to have some photos of Lilly, My dad's Mom. You're not forgotten.

Happy Mother's Day, Grandmother.

"Wallace was the second child of W. B. Flatt and was nearly a year old when his father went into the army.

The family went to Stanley, North Dakota in the early 1900´s and took out a homestead. Here the family of 8 children grew to maturity. He later was employed by the railroad and they moved to a comfortable home in Stanley.

Wallace and his wife Olive had 8 children and their Uncle Allie thought they were the nicest family of five little girls he had ever seen and when they left for North Dakota in 1902 they left a big empty place in Iowa.

His widow, Olive, lived for 40 years after his death in 1922. She died suddenly May 16th in 1962 while eating a good breakfast, apparently in the best of health.

Her life was one of goodness and kindness."
