Not dragged down

Not dragged down, dawn grass flourishes untrampled by athletics, by briefly uncaged dogs

As sunblast moves clouds to sculpt for eye that which appears foreground

Prisms jitter on every blade in the faintest stirring

A single fantastic lighthouse in the crowd radiates head and corona my attention

It must harbor some fat globule of water on its circus shoulder

Spiderwebs usually invisible glimmer and die with the ebb and retreat of bird call and sun teeter totter

Not far off the nearest mountain a  jigsaw scrabble makes words fleeting from sense

Disruption a phalanx of insects throw a fetch toy sunglasses oblivious

They evaporate also, stretch our legs to float peopled burdens elsewhere

Our traces palimpsests of learning, echoes of dogma faux tattooed

Pick up the silly putty they grime spring with and stick it under the front row bleacher

Who are we to sing of nature be it lifted or carbon copy recited off instructions quasar merged

Within the lime light squeezes
