Bar sued by employees for sexual misconduct

"Former Employees Sue Southeast Portland Bar the Liquor Store, Alleging Sexual Misconduct by an Investor"

"The lawsuits allege repeated unwanted physical contact, including groping, hugging and kissing."

"DuBois co-founded Seattle online game developer DoubleDown Interactive, which sold to slot machine maker IGT for $500 million in 2012. In 2017, he started Truly Social Games, which has offices in Portland, Vancouver, B.C., and Belarus.

He is a resident of Clackamas County, according to court documents.

In her lawsuit, McCaslin, who worked as a bartender beginning in 2017, alleges that DuBois "repeatedly" hugged and kissed her without consent. McCaslin says she reported the behavior to her managers, but no action was taken. She quit in February 2020."

"I'd go there sometimes as recently as last year, they had these Monday pizzas for $2 and half price microbrews.

And Megan, a bartender, to see her.

She was wearing a Skinny Puppy T shirt one day, and I remarked on it; my housemate, a former LA retired "exotic dancer" told me that she'd dated one of the Skinny Puppy guys. Which stuck in my head, as she moved into our Mt Tabor rental home the same month a friend died in New Mexico who was a huge Skinny Puppy fan.

She told me the owner had given her the T shirt, and I definitely wondered about their relationship. I'd been on the verge of asking her out to do something. She liked me, and worked next door sometimes at Belmont Inn.

I went over to see her one early evening at the Belmont Inn, and was going to hang out at the bar on a stool and keep each other company. It didn't happen, as I had been playing some pool by myself and then  three very pretty ladies from Oakland asked to play.

One of the pool players dad was a former Black Panther, and told me she'd learned from him on their table at home. It was really fun, and I almost got invited to their next stop at a house party....and then one of the people said "oh wait what about so and so" like there'd be an issue, or another guy liked her.

In the meantime, I'd spent enough fun there. Waved to Megan, never saw her after that, other than maybe for another $2 pizza with arugula on top.

Which all means little to nothing in relation to the serious story reported, other than a vague feeling about the establishment, with its rather frightening and fire trap seeming music room, down in a basement. They had these "seminars" on sexual harassment down there, around 5 pm, and I thought that was cool.

Maybe that helped these employees come forward.

Solidarity, forest

Always disliked the generic name of the place, too.

Cool records lined the wall however, and they had a turntable.
