gilboa cairo

under the slough's miasma's fen
her diadem reindeer pronged
aboard a longship planted keel north,
sunk in the world tree's keep.

seepage of glaciers one eyed jewel
weeping lightning bursts, hail that kill fish
out in nets made of her hair
ten thousand tongues thick

full of unwooded peace, her roots older
than spiders, gesticulating in radial questions
laser inscribed by kronos into concrete sundials
quarried, half a mile above sea's current crown

came home and wrote this after reading News
of the oldest fossil forest 385 million years old
