"Oklahoma lawmakers are scrambling this week to close an egregious loophole in the state's rape law—one that allows a rapist to walk scot-free if the rapist forces non-vaginal sex on a victim while he or she was blackout-drunk or otherwise unconscious.

The rightful outrage follows a March 24 appeals court decision on a law that states forcible sodomy (which can include oral or anal sex) cannot occur when the victim is so intoxicated that he or she is completely knocked out at the time of the sex act. 

The appeals court was considering the outcome of a 2014 rape case, in which a 17-year-old boy accused of sodomizing a 16-year-old girl was found not guilty—despite overwhelming physical evidence and even witness testimony that the girl was totally incapable of consent."
