red wing (2018)

today we will borrow the red-wing blackbird
from the dizzying array,
viewed through an amber periscope,
under the influence
of earl grey's fog laden orchestra,
moving like the cursor
of beauty's greater drone
or a figment of wealth,
his epaulets and omnivorous appetite
shine the scabby paint railing
free of corn tidbits,
no tool of time
transcendent departed to
loan the lawn a sword of song

"the Red Wing crater may have been part of a hypothetical multiple impact event which also formed the Manicouagan crater in northern Quebec, Rochechouart crater in France, Saint Martin crater in Manitoba, and Obolon' crater in Ukraine.[3]

All of the craters had previously been known and studied, but their paleoalignment had never before been demonstrated. Rowley has said that the chance that these craters could be aligned like this due to chance are nearly zero."
