Coyote along ground, weaving, crows follow;
caravans night desert scrambling o'er moon hollow
   crumpled old footsteps, deleted death's sands
   ------------getting away to better barren lands

gated community security vans
border delusional paranoid plans
   christ in a manger all covered in straw
   short stick, no water,  under fences crawl

girls boys and mothers, fathers in denim
lottery dreams, fights if we win them
   chasing a future over prickly pear foes
   mean-spirit men, outnumbered we grow

   made of the land, water can't stay
   the rio we swim, the barren heart way
