juniper beam retaining wall, bloggod Oregon

prior to the fun of making the Juniper 6 by 6 inch beam wall with 20,000 lbs of wood carried one by one from the street, was the DEMO of the preexisting stacked reclaimed concrete slab wall, which I wheelbarrowed to the many dumpsters laboriously....about 40 yards of concrete, dirt, sod, removed from the site, at 2-3,000 lbs or so per yard......
the largest Juniper beam wall you'll see. gravel foundation, rebar stakes, buried one course deep. should last at least 75 years, probably 150. there are 15-20 yards of river rock, gravel, concrete block behind the wall of wood.....for drainage
